You need a saw mill 👍, I think you should have had some safely glasses on the boys while they split the wood. Your doing a great job in my opinion 👍
There's 1000 Dollars of boards
I wonder if GP Rents has sawmills?
A sawmill is always a good investment when you get all your stuff sawed up you can make some extra cash to keep you floating
When the wood is wet, it is easier to mill. Dry wood dulls the blade sooner.
you need a saw mill to build the wife some stuff
I bought the LM29 Norwood and am having a riot cutting everything I can get my hands on. You need a mill. Lol
there is a couple in northern Idaho that built a post and beam house using a saw mill they bought. there was a learning curve with some frustration but they got the hang of it. i will dig out their website for next time.
You need a sawmill, HAVE YOU SEEN THE PRICE OF LUMBER LATELY! It ridiculous!
Im looking up that jerky Happy holidays 😎😎😎
Nice video, just stumbled upon your channel by accident. Can i ask for the title of the song playing while splitting along with the side kicks? Who is the singer? Lovely music.

Ok now that you took off the straight parts of the trees for lumber, let me tell you about a great use for rest of logs that are too thin for lumber or too crooked to use, or the large bases near the root balls. 1. Rustic furniture makers love to use slabs from near the root balls of hard wood and cedar wood to make tables. They also like to use cleaned up root balls for table bases. 2. Smaller diameter hard wood logs that are still green are perfect growing gourmet mushrooms on. First you cut them into logs about 3 feet long depending on the girth of them. (They need to be lightweight enough that you can pick one up and hit it the end of it on the ground.) Try to keep the bark intact. Now take a small group of them and bind them together with some bailing wire. Take that to a deep spot in the creek to soak for several days. Then pull the bundle out of the creek and take it where you can line them up standing on one end. While they’ve been soaking, go online to Amazon.com and order bags of 100 Shiitaki mushroom plugs and any other species that you like and/or can sell in your area. I highly recommend Lions Mane mushrooms. Also order some cheese wax. You will also need a drill with a bit the same size as the plugs, and a rubber mallet and a nail set. And a small sauce pan to melt the cheese wax in and either a metal straw or a small spoon to drip the wax into the holes after the plugs have been pounded into the logs. On each of your soaked logs, drill 4 holes in a diamond pattern. Roll the log slightly so that you can use one of the side holes as the start of the next diamond ♦️ ♦️ ♦️ ♦️ ♦️ so each diamond is touching via the shared side hole all the way around the log. Then do the pattern for the next row using the top hole of the bottom diamond to be the bottom hole of the next row. ♦️ ♦️♦️ of diamonds ♦️ ♦️♦️ ♦️ ♦️♦️ until the entire log is covered by holes in this pattern. Like this. Pass the log to your helper to pound the plugs into the hole about a quarter inch below the surface of the bark, (use the nail set) while the next log is drilled. Then the first log gets passed to another helper, who fills that quarter inch hole with the melted cheese wax. Then when all of the logs are done, stack them in a shady spot close to a water source in the shape a square outline like a miniature log cabin without chinking so that there is an air gap between each log and also a big space between the logs and soil. This space helps keep unwanted wild mushroom spores from contaminating your now valuable mushroom logs. Be sure to spray or soak them with water in when ever they start to look dry and keep them in the shade. Starting next fall you will have tons of shiitake mushrooms. Tip to get the shiitake mushrooms to produce next fall, take a log and hold it vertically and drop it at least a foot onto a hard surface like concrete after it has had a good soaking. The Japanese do this “thumping “ and it seems to help them produce new mushrooms. These logs will produce for many years. You can also sell these mushroom logs locally to people who want to grow their own mushrooms. One year old mushroom logs retail for between $20.00 and $45.00 each depending on size. Now if your family would like the taste of some crab/lobster to go with the filet mignon flavor of some of that deer backstrap, you can do the exact same procedure using plugs of Lions Mane mushrooms which taste just like shellfish. Cook the Lions Mane mushrooms in some butter and lemon juice and you have surf and turf for those special occasions. These mushrooms are also very very good for you. You can also do this with Oyster mushrooms, Chicken of the Woods etc. But always cook ALL mushrooms. Even the ones from the grocery stores. Raw mushrooms have a bad chemical that is destroyed by cooking while the good nutrients and chemicals stay good when cooked (except for magic mushrooms which do not grow on wood and for the time being are still illegal) If you have plugs left over, keep them in a ziplock bag in the refrigerator. They last for many months. There are UZworld videos showing the procedure I just explained. Last tip. Keep the Oyster mushrooms away from the other mushroom logs. They put out tons of spores (mushroom seeds) that will take over the more valuable mushroom logs Also keep in mind mushroom mycelium that grows inside these hardwood logs causes beautiful patterns that wood turners prize. You can make very good money 💰 for selling Spalted Maple, Oak, Birch, Cherry Hickory, Poplar, Beechwood and other hardwoods. Skip the evergreens for wood turners and mushrooms. The only really good mushrooms that grow on or under evergreens are Miataki (Hen of the Woods) Which are very very expensive. Hope this helps you to see all of the profits you have sitting in your brush pile.
When I started stacking "Saw logs" I committed to a mill.....now I have to convince the Bride.
Your making me hungry for some venison!!!
Love channel but beggin not just you all the homsteaders ya know just keep doin what ya do ✌ MN
Yes, you need a saw mill!!! Free lumber ...
I think you are so wise to do this with downed trees. That big stump would make beautiful live edge table tops!!! Your tractor equipment makes this an easy job to get done during the colder weather and you are ready when you make a deal for a saw mill. Love that you can do great things like this. Oh no there are some great trees in this pile! Nice straight trees!!! Wow
Sawmill 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍✌️😊😊
There is money to make with a saw mill.
Do you watch "outdoors with the morgans?"
I'm with you Daniel a sawmill just makes sense you get almost free lumber out of your wasted trees . You'll still have the slab sides for firewood plus all the tops and smalls . You can also custom saw for others if you decide that's something you want to try . There's always tree damage after ice storms in Oklahoma that people would like to harvest lumber out of to have a keep sake from the tree that grandpa planted or the tree I proposed to my wife under .....whatever . You are a great teacher showing your kids not only how to survive but rather how to thrive instead, we need way more parents like the both of you !
3 sidekicks countin the Kubota 😀
I like the pink shaded logo. I also appreciate you teaching the kids responsibility. There needs to be more of that.
IF YOU ONLY HAD A HOOKUP WITH A RENTAL PLACE LIKE GP RENTAL
You what would be cool is if you were to buy a saw milk to build Houston a tree house by the creek
Yes you need a sawmill. The first tree you cut into boards will be the hook set for sure. You'll need so woodworking tools to and you'll be making family heirlooms. You will not regret getting one.
Awesome, awesome family. You are definitely my kind of people. God bless you all.
@Arms Family Homestead You could build a bridge across your creek. So you don't get flooded in. ;) Just an idea for the lumber. That could justify the saw mill purchase to your lovely wife.
Daniel is a good man. DJ, be kind and show some love.
DJ, I wish I could watch sawmill videos on your channel!
Great helpers
The price of lumber is through the roof. And people will pay a premium for the live edge. Go for it. It's a waste to let that expensive lumber go to waste. There's money to be made. And then if you use up all your own wood, others can come and get their stuff milled. Money.
Most people forget the tree tops have a lot of usable firewood. Takes more work being smaller but it is there. The non-usable top parts can be cut smaller and piled up for small animal habitats.
Maybe we could try some different songs. Some without words could be good 😉😉😉👍👍👍👍I'm sure some of the viewers like it and that's great, but there may be some that are fast forwarding through the video hoping the song will end. 😉😉😉
You definitely need a sawmill Daniel. I love the music you play during your videos. Love the Arms Family!!
Yes, Daniel a sawmill would be awesome for your homestead! 😊👍💕💕💕
So when are you going to add a sawmill ?
Do you have tees sized for women ?
Enjoyed your video! If you think you can afford it get yourself a Sawmill. All I ask is to be careful! Love you'll!
It's great to have good help. Those little guys are good workers. We follow Hometown Acres and found your channel from a comment you left over there. We'd really appreciate if you'd give our channel a look if you're not already following us and have a minute. Thanks!
Do it! Need some more saw mill vids to watch.
How much of are your printed hoodies.
Yay, Hoody for fatty me!
Haha “which you have not done well for the ... previous years.... of our togetherness” man your wife has some character
Yes you need a saw mill! Lumber is expensive right now! You will invest in the equipment but you might be able to profit by selling lumber to your neighbors.
Two words... tax deductible
I'm all about economy of energy, can I ask why you pile the wood instead of put it in the back of the truck.
I like the song you picked for this when you were using the chainsaw - Will you share the name of the band and/or the name of the song? Satan Stay Away from my Door?
It looks white on my screen. You can sale them labeled as pale pink lettering. Discount them as flawed ...or character ;)
Beard is ugly
Some ladies would love the ponk tinge. Sell what you got and keep going.
DJ, DANIEL NEEDS A SAWMILL.
Save the "Pink" ones for breast cancer month. Maybe donate part of the profit toa local cancer organization. 🤷♀️. As a survivor, I would buy one. :)
In Canada in one month 4x10 went from .30 a foot to $1.00 a foot. I’d love to have one!
A saw mill would be amazing! I just started watching videos and what a savings when you have timber on your property!
Donkey Poodle Ranch as requested. You are so faithful to your subscribers. Good for you. Take care and God bless
Who would complain about your marketing? I think it's terrific!! There's room for everything in your show!
Sure wish Dutch and Kevin had contacted sawmill companies. They have given Dutch’s plenty of good advertising.
Oh I need to see more sawmill videos. Especially from one of my favorite channels. That slow motion man glitter is awesome. I hope that helps ;)
Sawmill, ya....
This what happens because America sold out to China. Ports aren’t receiving the many shipments they used to due to import issues.
Daniel if you'll cutting wood every day or for a business then its good investment to buy a saw mill Buy if you'll going to use a saw mill one or twice a month then rent one first to see how much time you will use it. THAT IS A big investment. SAWmill an cost $7,000-$50,000 There not cheap. And you don't want to buy or rent one that is not up to good working standards. God Bless.
Daniel, any chance you could get a 7xlt? I'd love to own won. I'd also love to get a 4xl, 3xl and 2xl donkey poodle ranch hoodie. Please let me know if it's possible. Thank you and love the videos and family
You definitely need a saw mill!
Ordered from PawPaw’s. This family loves jerky and the boys gave such a wonderful review, how could we not. Thanks for the discount code. I’m trying to convince my guy to purchase a sawmill. The addiction is real. Many men wouldn’t need convincing but mine has many projects he’s more interested in right now.
I don't know if you have watched Off Grid with Doug and Stacy but Doug has a saw mill that he really is crazy about. The new upgrade handles the big 6,000 lb logs. Love your videos!! Can't wait to see some of your new merchandise.
Hey Daniel, there is something missing from your videos? Have you ever thought about getting a... Now just stay with me for a moment... But have you ever thought about getting a sawmill like Dutch has??? I could watch sawmill videos 24/7, so I think you need to get a sawmill? 😉
I've been watching 3 channels of sawmills .. With all the wood you have I would ..
Saw mill. Can use the cedars you have to make fence posts for the new pastors. Plus tons of other projects
uzworld.info/player/video/jaXHsMd-qK3RjKo avoiding pith of a white oak log
Gotta get a HAT! HAT! HAT! Dig the tunes Daniel. Great choice. Love, love, love it.
You need a sawmill
That’s a good wood splitter. We have the same one from TSC. Got to have one if you burn wood.
Mama Arms, I love your purse. Where did you get it?
I dont think you can make much with only 8 footers. Make sure you have some long ones. I would get a saw mill if I were you.
YOUR DOING FIND,AND I LIKE YOUR WIFE'S HAIR.
Something to think about with lumber so high priced you could sell the lumber for a couple bucks cheaper than could be bought in the stores
What do we want "A SawMill "💯👍🇱🇷👀
you could make her a sauna from all that nice Wood.
I have the same saw mill addiction!!! Lol !!! Agree with you totally cause I went from watching videos to looking up portable saw mills for sale on the internet🤦♂️
Such a handy tractor u really would be lost without Daniel enjoyed watchin the boys splitting logs so many exciting things r happening for ur family:)
Offer those pink logo shirts at discount price so they won’t be a loss.
Yes you need a sawmill 1 it will save money on buying lumber. Your not wasting money just burning it up. 2 You can sell it if you git to much on hand with all the trees you have a sawmill is a must have. Just so you know win you are out cutting logs git as you can an Straight so if a log is 11ft an you want a 10ft log leve it at 11ft or just 4" longer the you want so after you mill the log then you can cut the ends on a chop saw to make the ends straight and you will have the 10ft log at the end. I hope I helped you a little.
sawmill sawmill sawmill sawmill sawmill!!!!!!
Please stop apologizing on the merch! We’re here for your story and this is part of your story. Simple living Alaska UZworldrs use a chainsaw with a guide to rough sawn lumber, which is also amazing in addition to the kind of mills I think you are describing. Apparently the chainsaw mill is pretty common up in Alaska but I don’t know about here in Oklahoma. Either way, I’m excited to see what you do!
loving the beard man.
Hi how ya doing . if your interested in a sawmill . check out woodmizer. They actually have dealers in the u.s. if I'm not mistaken they may have a dealer in your area. I'm looking at the lx25. It can cut 26 inch diameter logs by 12.5 foot long longer with extensions. For around 3500.00 dollers
one thing you need to save is the leg shanks. Cook them with vegetables in a slow cooker and after 3 hrs its falling off the bone goodness. If you like lamb shanks you will love venison shanks.
