  • This was so interesting. I am trying so hard to get just one job working from home, Im even looking at 2 right now and may end up taking both. I became single last year and since then money has become a struggle, it seems I get paid once a month as I am sick at the moment until January, but I get paid pay my normal house bills like rent, council tax, utilities, mobile, and I maybe have enough left for a bit of food but no luxuries, I cut them when I became sick. I just want to be able to have a life without worry. Ive cut a lot of things out. I have a hobby crafting but I cant cut that out , it keeps me sane lol. x

  • I got my entire college paid through the Clinton displaced homemaker grant. I have a BS in Environmental Studies and I got my professional job with Florida Department of Health as an environmental health inspector. Florida has a great retirement that was totally free until Rick Scott started taking 3%of our pay for retirement. Our pay was not equal to what I would have made in the private industry but we did it because of state benefits and I believed in trying to help the underprivileged and also protecting people from being mistreated. It was the hardest job I ever had and I pushed myself into early retirement and disability because I worked too hard and put too much physical stress on my body. I am slowly getting better by resting a lot and paying attention to my body. I would not put myself in debt for college. My daughter did, against my advice and probably won't have her college loans paid off before retirement age. She has 2 BS and 2 Masters degrees and is not using either one of the degrees. My degree really didn't help me in my employment except I had to have a science degree to sit for the Food Certification test.

  • It’s so true and you know I think we are the first generation to have the amount of debt and credit more then any other generation before us. If we could have put the terms of compound interest in education to how much credit card companies are making off of people it may have been something as a student I would have listened to....maybe. I know I certainly didn’t pay attention to how compound interest for saving money would have helped me. I believe money management should be a compulsory course in high school, it’s so easy to get in to debt and can take a lifetime to get out of it. I know exactly what you mean about the stress and the weight that is removed from your shoulders when you can stop going to that “job”. For me it happened when I was in my early 40’s and it certainly wasn’t by choice and even at the time I kept fighting the fact that it couldn’t possibly be the end of my career something I had worked so hard to achieve as a single mother and yet because of an accident and five back surgeries and an induced coma as a complication of surgery due to a latex allergy my brain was injured due to oxygen deprivation which effects my short term memory to this day. So despite my physical limitations my brain won’t allow me to do the work I used to do. So instead of retiring by choice I was forced in to it and now after 10 Yrs of struggling to be able to do the things so many people take for granted like swallowing(I thought that was automatic...it’s not it’s a learned skill), walking, dressing myself, trying to cook, clean and just trying to keep a house. Just day to day things required to live are my daily struggles, but I am blessed because I did work for a very good place and I had amazing insurance so although I’m on a fixed income and it will never go up that has become my latest struggle I’ve realized. I know I need to do more to save towards my future because one thing has been pretty consistent throughout history the cost of everything has been increasing. So I know I need to get out of all the debt I’m currently in and I’m sure motivated to do it. So just to add to what you were saying about you not planning to retire early, sometimes things happen beyond our control and if we can learn to manage our money when we are young so that we don’t fall into the keeping up with the Jones’s mentality and just focusing on our own finances and not spending everything we make and more. Because you never know what’s in front of you and accidents do happen I’m proof of that. But I kept thinking that my giant bonuses and salary increases year after year would continue because I was getting to the top of my game and had achieved middle management and there was nothing in front of me that I could see that would slow me down. But then overnight heck in the matter of a second everything changed! It was literally that fast in the flash of an instant and even though it took me several years to believe it, I’m finally coming to the understanding that this is my life and I’m so grateful for it and all that I have accomplished but it makes me sad and I do suffer with depression. But I find when I do something to help others indirectly it helps me because I get a lot of joy from it. I haven’t been able to find a second career yet but for now I just try to find joy in everything I do. When I find joy and happiness it’s impossible to not feel good about myself and others. Thank you for sharing your video it was very thought provoking and I’m going to check out audio book you mentioned! Thanks! God bless you & your wonderful family. From your neighbor from the north. 🇨🇦🙏🏻🥰

  • I agree with you on education. I had a friend from India and his father used to be a multi millionaire and owns a huge space shipping company in India. One day the government came in and just took it all the way from them and there was nothing they could do about it and left them with nothing. His father used to tell him that education is the best investment because it’s the only thing that no one can take away from you and after everything is gone you still have your education and can start over again. You’re correct about debt and credit. It’s literally a form of slavery. Most slaveowners ended up keeping their slaves they basically made them free but since they were free they had to start paying for their own clothes and food and rent and most of them decided to stay right where they were and continue working for the same people who were there slave owners and they came up with the company store program where that was where they would buy their food and their clothes and everything else and of course they didn’t have any money so they bought everything on credit and they had to keep working harder and harder to pay off that debt and with the interest they were stuck in the system were working and paying the minimum never got you anywhere it never paid off your principal and you were forever in debt. Credit cards and credit are basically a new form of slavery. And though education is important I’m not sure college is the best choice for everybody anymore. There are welders out there that go to school for six months and are making 150,000 a year to start, there’s not a single gender study graduate that makes even half of that from their college education yet they owehundreds of thousands to where the welder owes 15 or 20 grand and will have it paid off within a year. I went to school with a kid who is 17 years old and before he graduated high school had a $65,000 a year job because he graduated from a trade school for computer networking which is what I was doing. Knowledge and education is important but making sure you don’t over pay for it just because Society tells you you need to go to college is important as well. A business degree from a junior college will probably get you as far as a business degree from Harvard now unless you’re going to be a politician I work with an a political corporation, accounting and the basic college course skills don’t necessarily require $100,000 Per year university. I say avoid that at all costs and educate yourself where you can, if you’re passionate it almost doesn’t matter what school you go to but follow what’s best for your path and where you wanna end up

This again is coming from an 82 old G grandma from Bend OR. I am not where I want to be....a single woman, age 53, no husband, no children and no family. I just don't know what my purpose is. Neither my parents nor school nor my college education prepared me for this. I need some prayers sent my way please. Thanks for letting me vent. God Bless You.

  • Keeps us as a slave when we engage in commerce. Thats what they want so we get scared when we dont have money when we can pay bills. Keeps us as worker bees. Instead of being with family, learning, growing as a family. Working with our hands. Most people are living life to pay bills, to pay for their $48,000 car or truck . Its ridiculous. They've made us want the things.

By the time he is old enough to do his job the girls will be old enough to breed. Rick still works a full time job, but we now have a small nest egg. All vehicle's are paid off. No bills now other than some medical and utility's . Every time we get one paid off a little more stress is lifted .

  • Absolutely agree with the end of this video. As odd as it may sound we sold our house a couple years ago to start farming for a poultry company. They provide the housing (brand new house) and pay all the utilities just to have me working here (on top of a weekly paycheck and I havent regretted it a day since. Being happy with what I do has made my farm (competing against 10 or 20 year vet growers) one of the top in the company and showing my kids what goes into making food and getting them involved in 4H and all the things that go along with raising livestock for human consumption good and bad has changed our lives. It isnt for everyone and corporate farming has a bad reputation because there are people doing it because they know nothing else (I've been a mechanic and worked in mental health for ten years and couldn't do it anymore) and they aren't doing it for the right reasons any longer but taking your 4 year old in to do chores at 530am before he goes to school because he wants to is a powerful thing. Having your 8 year old sit with a lamb that she bottle raised while it struggles with the aftermath of over eating and having it not make it is heart breaking but the lessons they learn and the maturity they gain from the experience is invaluable. Getting up every 2 hours to check new birds for 10 straight days and going to check on them when an unexpected thunderstorm pops up are all things that in the moment seem inconvenient but when you talk to another person about it and explain the million little details that you put into being successful it gives you a sense of pride knowing you absolutely are doing right by your animals. The other side of this lifestyle means we are tied to very little. I fully intend to do this until we retire in another 30 or so years at which point we pack up and see what's left of the world without having to worry about selling our house or renting it etc etc.

  • I believe it was your last video you had on a shirt that said believe in Jesus. if you could wear a shirt every time that said something about Jesus just think of the thousands and thousands people that would see that shirt and it could plant a seed in their lives of being saved. Just think of the opportunity you have to help people to be saved in these end times. And don't worry about the people that might complain because you want to please God not man. Love you guys never miss a video see you in heaven someday

  • We lived in a Double wide and built our house over a five year period. We lived in it 10 years before my husband died. We were married 26 years. He passed two years ago. We both had medical expenses. Credit Cards are to be used in emergency situations. I learned that the hard way when I was single out of college. My parents and grandparents helped me through junior college Associate Degree in Nursing (RN). Thank God for life insurance. All debts were paid and his funeral was beautiful. He deserved a beautiful celebration of life service. My husband was a great man. He loved God. He helped the elderly and widowed. He planted two gardens every spring and gave to everyone in the community and the Meals on wheels. I tried to do the same, but being disabled from a car accident, my back and neck and back pain I could not manage the upkeep. I crawled and planted the plants, but I could not use the tiller. I used the tractor and disc to break up the ground. I could not get anyone to help me and I posted it on Facebook and asked the high school FFA. My husband was well known and always got students from the high schools FFA to help with the garden and pay them. I had to sell our beautiful cattle because I could not care for them. It broke my heart. My husband love his beautiful Black Angus cattle. We had enough hay to get us through January. There was a shortage and it was hard to get have that year. I was raised on a farm and knew the struggles.
