  • Howdy 👋 to the Arms Family Homestead! I’m a new “watcher” to your program, and am enjoying it SO much! I’m retired now, and don’t really have a whole lot to do...some sewing, church events, pets to take care of, house chores (😏). Then when I’m ready to sit down and catch my breath, I usually have been turning on old cowboy movies because the rest of the channels...well...not worth my time. I’ve seen those movies so many times I recite the script with the movie! So...I’ve been looking for something new to watch. I happened to be browsing the Internet, and found your program, and I’ve been hooked! I think I’ve seen all your recent videos at least twice, but now I’ve found where prior videos are listed so I’m going back and watching earlier ones. I am an animal lover, and I just LOVE it when Bear and Bella come up to you and schmooze while you’re talking to the camera! You and DJ have beautiful children, and it’s fun watching them on the videos, too. God bless you and your family (and visitors). Time to walk my dogs. Later...Sheryl

  • I'm sorry about the aphids. They've always been a battle for me, too, here in Tulsa, until this year. Try not adding any compost or fertilizer next round and see if it helps. Stefan Sobkowiak has a video titled "Aphids are a good indicator of..." that explains why too much nitrogen can cause problems. This year all I did was put a very little bit of rabbit manure in each planting hole and a tiny sprinkle in the soil block mixture and I can't believe the difference. No spraying, no sluggish plants (they're actually the biggest plants and fruits I've ever grown). God, I hope it keeps working. What if it really is just that easy?

Think about it but for now enjoy what your doing now

  • I like the beard! I think it looks great on you. That lightning struck tree is really something. I have had a lot of lightning strikes too, but usually I just see a ribbon of bark stripped off. It has never split one of them in half. That's pretty amazing. I just subscribed a couple weeks ago. I think you have a beautiful family. It's really good to see a family that puts God first and offers no apology for it. That is exactly what we need to see more of in a world that seems crazier every day. We need to see more REAL life, and less anger and hatred. Thank you for providing us with an oasis away from all of that. I truly enjoy your videos. And that Rufus sure is a character, lol. I know alpacas are guardian animals, and it's obvious he takes his job very seriously!

    Kim GKim G6 oy oldin
  • I follow another rescue group that have Alpacas too. They are in Texas and they mud up their water troughs and buckets all the time too. And they love being hosed down as well. Guess their thick fur, even tho its short, is still pretty hot. Their mountain heritage they probably like cooler weather. I know the alpacas here in Canada do just fine all winter outdoors here even. A tough animal I'd say.

  • an inch of vasoline around the base stems will prevent the ants from carrying the aphids up the plant. Pick up some lady bugs to attack the ones already on the leaves, and aphid problem solved. Works quite well since without the ants, they are defenseless.

  • Put some of this sealer on the exterior where the metal and concrete meet before spray foaming. Just extra insurance in case the spray foam doesn’t completely air seal the base of the barn.

  • Putting end cards up over the last part of the video is really irritating when you're trying to watch the video and have these idiot end cards covering up everything. I was trying to watch Weston play basketball and couldn't do it. You're not the only channel that does it. Most of them do. But I don't know what it accomplishes other than to aggravate your viewers.
